You had some interesting ideas. My hope is always that students in the future will be as bright as you are and that they are self-confident, caring students who believe that they can make a difference in the world. Technology changes our lives, but I hope we will still be loving, patient and helpful people who want to make the world a better place.

Thank you for sharing your writing and drawing with me!
Mrs. Gailis

Dear Mr G,

We loved this video and we had a long discussion about the environment and the future of our planet. We have so many ideas for how countries could share resources. Thank you for adding to our learning. We spent lots of our “reading lesson” thinking deeply and being inspired by your message.

Kind regards,
Grade 4

You are asking a question that I think about often. What will the world be like in 10 years? I hope that we are better stewards of the environment and I hope that we can get along better. My wish would be that countries see the good in each other and share their resources smarter. Of course, technology will have rapidly changed as it does everyday. It is quite amazing to think of how technology will change the way we live. When I was in Grade 4 I did not have a computer or a cell phone and now all of you have access to the internet which we hadn’t heard of not many years ago!

I saw an interesting video that I wanted to share with you. It is not so much about the future of what we will experience but a video about the earth’s continents in 100 million years. You will see the journey, according to some people, of how the earth has evolved over time.

Do you think it’s possible?

Good question, Dave!

One hundred years from now, I think the world will be a better place. Your grandchildren will be better guardians of our environment. They will learn to use renewable energy, preserve biodiversity and manage the population. I think the world will seem smaller and people will be even more transient. I think technological advancements will mean that most of today’s jobs no longer exist. Instead, people will use new tools to connect, create and innovate, in order to meet needs and enrich lives. I think families, friendships and celebrations will still unite people and bring the greatest happiness to humanity.

Now – there are LOTS of big words there.
Where are the robots and flying cars?
Doesn’t Ms O’Dwyer want us to live in space?
Let’s work together to try to understand what Ms O’Dwyer is saying.

I think this competition is good for children because they get to say the things they want to say about the future and say them out loud to other people. What would you write, Ms O’Dwyer?

Kind regards
Dave

What a nice surprise!! Thank you so much for the “blogging licence”. I will keep visiting your blog because this gives very interesting information and gives me fun.

For some reason, I can’t read the descriptions for the future now. This is also an amazing subject. I am eager to read it!!

Thank you again for cheering me.

Warm regards,

Joy
